A moment in time

Sometime I just want to freeze time!  My baby is already 9 months old!  My big baby is 2!  I already miss that cuddly newborn stage.  I am starting to forget that little baby smell.  Kenny is already turning into a stinky, smelly boy.  Loralei is looking older every day.  I find it impossible to capture everything that I want to remember (Kenny is starting to hate his picture taken more and more)!  I want to capture everything!  I wish we had a way to bottle all those sweet baby smells and capture all the coos and  giggles.
She is always sucking on her fingers!
Those big blue eyes!

I love that she is getting enough hair to have "bed head"

The way her smile lights up her entire face!

Those chubby wrists!  My uncle says
they have rubber bands around them

The way he looks so shy sometimes!

His tantrums still make him look like my baby!
This face that just cracks me up!

That smile and those eyes!  Slay me!

His idea of a selfie!

Growing up

As I was making Kenny's bed after changing his sheets, I had to stop and dwell on the fact that he is not a baby anymore.  He has a big boy bed, blanket and pillow, and now has to sleep with a variety of comfort items.  I'm not even sure when all of these things gathered in his bed.  I know for the first 12+ months I followed the safe sleep guidelines and there was nothing in his crib but a sheet and Kenny.  Now there are some nights when it is hard to even find him!  Other mommas, do the milestones get any easier?  Do you always get a little twinge when you realize they just keep getting older?

The Magic Mansion

That is what the Magic House has become!  That place is huge!  I have only been there for Field Trips recently, so we were only in one small part of the Magic House.
We met my good friend Jennifer and her sister in law and her kids.  Jenn lives in Florida now, so I don't get to see her as often as I would like!

Kenny got to meet Sid the Science Kid!

These 2

I absolutely love watching the 2 of them together!  Kenny just loves his baby!  He wants to do everything with her and I just love it!  I hope they are always close!

Soccer Shots

We signed Kenny up for Soccer Shots this summer.  I thought it would be a great way for him to burn some energy and play with kids his own age.  He doesn't get that opportunity as much as I would like.  He has always liked playing with balls and being outside, so I figured this would be perfect.

Yay, not so much.   Kenny did really well for the first 5 minutes.  That's about it.  He spends most of the session running away from his coach and the other kids.  He wants me on the field with him and he has to have his water bottle.  I have to keep reminding myself that he is only 2 and this is new to him!!!!  I know this is good for him, even if it seems like he isn't getting much out of it.  I don't care if soccer doesn't end up his thing, I just want him to be active!

So darn dramatic!

2 years

It has been 2 years since this little boy made me a momma!  2 of the happiest years of my life!  Every day Kenny continues to amaze me!  His little personality is really starting to shine.  He is funny and kid.  He is caring.  He is an amazing big brother.  He handled that change so well.  He worries about her and cares for Loralei more than I imagined a 2 year old could.

7:31a. That is when Kenny took his first breaths and changed my world completely!

Some of his accomplishments in the last year:
He is talking more and more.  There is still a slight delay so we will be having him reevaluated sometime this summer.  He qualified for speech through Children's but when he was evaluated by First Steps in April he did not qualify and they did not recommend speech.

Kenny had surgery on his tear ducts at 14 months.  He was such a trooper and handled the whole thing much better than I did!

He still loves to swim and is starting his second year of swim lessons.  Kenny will swim all over the pool by himself with his life jacket on!  The kid is a regular fish.

Kenny will be starting soccer shots next week.  I am really excited to see how he will interact with the other children.

Kenny loves to be outside.  He is working on his fear of the big slides.  He isn't a fan of swings right now but will climb steps and climbers all day long.  He likes to go for walks at St. Ferdinand park and really likes to feed the ducks and geese.

He has become best buddies with PawPaw.  They are like 2 peas in a pod.  Kenny has even started hiking up his pants and waddling around like Donnie.  Kenny really didn't like seeing him all laid up after knee surgery.
Kenny has always been Grandma's boy and loves cuddles with her.  She sings him ABC's and play bumblebee bzzzzz with him!
Kenny has also been able to spend a lot more time with Grandpa.  He likes the funny noises and faces grandpa makes with his mouth!

This boy has brought so much joy into our lives and I cannot wait to see what this next year brings!

Mommy, Daddy, and Loralei love you so much big boy!!!
