Nostalgic

Nostalgic.  I have been feeling a little nostalgic lately.  Or maybe it is wistful.  I feel like I miss so much when I am at work that my baby boy is growing up so quickly.  I took a look back at some of the thousands of pictures that I have on my phone.  It has been so awesome to watch him grow and change, but man does it have to go so fast??
Kenny's first Rascals game.  He was not impressed!

3 weeks old!

The best piece of baby equipment we bought!!!

He can practically just step out of the exersaucer now!

His favorite spot to be in!

Always so alert

Dressed to impress

Poor Boy

My poor baby had to have his tear ducts probed this week.  It is a minor procedure and didn't take long, but this momma was a wreck!  He couldn't eat after 7am and couldn't have anything to drink after 11.  By time we got to the hospital, he was tired and cranky, I was tired and cranky, Daddy was tired and cranky.  He changed into his adorable scrubs and then wanted to walk.  Everywhere.  He flirted with the nurses, entered people's rooms, generally ran the place.  He rode around the floor in a police car, which entertained everyone.

The hardest part was when they took him from me to take him to the OR.  He screamed and I cried.  Travis took it pretty hard but put on the brave face that most guys have.

The procedure was really quick and they took us to post op before he was awake so that he could wake up with us.  He looked miserable.  Bloody tears and bloody nose.  He was moaning and crying in his "sleep".  After about a half hour, we went back to our recovery room and he drank a little.   Of course, as we were getting ready to walk out, Kenny threw up.  All. OVER. ME.  He was covered, so they let him wear his scrubs home.

He ended up having a pretty rough night.  Everything he drank made him sick.  Apparently, that is normal and anesthesia just effects some people harder than other.  He didn't end up really eating or drinking anything until 11 the next day.

I am glad we had the procedure done, considering both of his ducts were blocked and this will hopefully help prevent some future infections.  Man was it hard seeing the after effects though!

I feel for any parent that had to deal with major or multiple surgeries.  Hopefully this is the only time he will have to be put under!!!

He did look really darn cute in his scrubs though!
The only time he tasted the popsicle.  He wasn't a fan

Cardinals Care 6K

I once again participated in the Cardinals Care 6K this year.  It is one of my favorite charity races, mainly because it is so laid back and Jackie Joyner Kersee is there!

This year I convinced a few people to do the race with me, and then I found out that I would be walking it this year!!!  My girl Bridget rocked out her first race!  Heck, she ran it faster than I did the last 2 years!  Her mom Karen, and Brother in Law Gary also joined the team!  My friend Scott did it as well, despite a little honeymoon interrupting his training.  I even got the husband to agree to do it!  He was supposed to walk with me, but decided to run as much as he could with our friend Leslie.  He did pretty great, considering I can't tell you the last time he ran anywhere!  My Mother in Law walked the 1 mile fun run with Kenny in the stroller.

At the end of the race Jason Motte and his wife were there!  It was pretty awesome and it was the first time a Cardinals player has been there at the finish line.  It was a great way to raise some money for a fantastic organization and honor the late great Stan Musial!!

Mini vacay

Travis and I wanted a weekend away from St. Louis!  We decided on a weekend trip to Springfield, MO.

We hit up Bass Pro Shop, saw some friends that live there, took in a Springfield Cardinals game, and drove to Branson for fudge and to Ride the Ducks.  Topped it off with dinner at Lambert's!    Not exactly a relaxing weekend, but man did we have fun!

Oh yeah, and Kenny learned how to pick his nose.  He now does it ALL THE TIME!!!
